Campus life

Student accommodation

Soka publishes an annual hall fee, not a monthly rent, and it already covers electricity, gas, water and Wi-Fi — there is no separate common-service charge to add.
Takiyama International Dormitory (men, on campus): ¥727,000 a year all in — ¥448,000 lodging plus ¥279,000 for the compulsory meal plan. The English page shows only the lodging half.
Manyo International Dormitory (women, on campus): ¥448,000 a year, ¥224,000 a semester, utilities and Wi-Fi included, no meal plan. A one-off ¥50,000 entrance fee applies.
Soshun Dormitory (women, on campus): ¥504,000 a year, and Sunflower Hall (women, 15 minutes on foot): ¥416,000 a year. Both include utilities and Wi-Fi, with no meal plan.
Cosmos Dormitory (women, 20 minutes on foot): ¥396,000 a year, about ¥39,600 a month over the 10-month residence period (computed), utilities and Wi-Fi included.
The two leased graduate halls, Seigi and Soei, are the exception: they bill electricity, gas and water on top of the rent, plus a ¥10,000 gas deposit, and Soka does not publish what those come to.
Undergraduate halls run late March to the end of February with a compulsory vacate period over the summer, and all of them are single-sex. There is no family or couple accommodation anywhere.

Student support

The Designated Country Grant excludes several of the largest sending countries — China, India, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, Pakistan and the Middle East — a restriction stated only inside the PDF.
Graduate scholarships are exam-gated: the TESOL award is reachable only through the November or February general examinations, and not through the February international-student examination.
The visa page is out of date — it still cites the 2012 immigration reform and links the retired immi-moj.go.jp domain, so confirm current procedure with the office.
The Faculties of Economics and Business Administration closed to new entrants in April 2026 on merger, though both sites remain fully live. Nursing does not admit international applicants.
