Student accommodation

578 rooms in three dormitories Sophia owns and runs itself. A further 319 rooms sit in "designated" and "recommended" dormitories run by private companies — Sophia lists those but does not publish their rents.
¥51,000 a month at Soshigaya International House — 320 single rooms of 15 m², men and women, about an hour from Yotsuya. Utilities and internet included.
¥95,000 a month at Sophia-Arrupe International Residence — 180 rooms of about 9 m² in six- and seven-person shared units, and the closest hall to Yotsuya at roughly ten minutes.
¥70,000 a month at Edagawa Men's Dormitory — 78 studios of 24 m² with their own bath and kitchen, MEN ONLY. It is the one hall where utilities are NOT included.
Edagawa's rent rises to ¥75,000 from FY2027. That revision is going ahead; ¥70,000 is what is charged now.
Spring entry has two application rounds, autumn only one — guidelines in May, applications in early June. You must already hold a firm offer by the deadline: conditional offers and waitlists are not screened.
Sophia publishes no general rent figure for central Tokyo. Its exchange guide puts total living costs near ¥150,000 a month, and its own housing agency lists furnished student halls at ¥66,500-89,500.
All three halls take Japanese and international students alike, none is reserved for internationals, none serves meals, and residence is capped at one year.
