Life as a student on this programme

Gap term

Gap Term An optional online term between accepting the offer and starting: faculty conversations, English communication, and Japanese classes for non-native speakers. Further Japanese courses run after enrolment.

Studio and community

The Studio The shared space at the heart of the five years, where students work alongside peers, faculty and visiting professionals.
Cohort One hundred students a year, deliberately mixed between Japan and the rest of the world.

Housing

Mejirodai International Village (MIV) All first-year students live here. A private room each, with shared kitchens, laundry and showers, in a residence of about 800 students and researchers — roughly 40 minutes by train from campus. About ¥88,000 a month including internet and utilities.
All-gender accommodation Rooms are all-gender. Each student has their own private room; kitchen, toilets and showers are shared and cleaned regularly. Gender-specific spaces are planned for those who need them.
The College has not yet published anything on clubs, societies, health services, career services or its own student support offices. It says further detail will follow.
