Year 1

In this stage

Students join their department's master's programme and their supervisor's laboratory, and begin GSGC's own obligations the exchange meeting seminar and quarterly meetings with the assigned secondary supervisor. As a general rule, the following credits are required: Master's program: 30 or more credits. The number of necessary credits shall be determined by each department.

Year 2

Qualifying Examination and thesis

The second year centres on laboratory research and the master's thesis, and contains the GSGC Qualifying Examination: Master's students must pass a Qualifying Examination to stay in the program throughout their Doctoral studies. Passing it is the screening required to proceed to the doctoral course.

Completion of the Master's program

A master's degree will be conferred to those who have completed a two-year period of residence, studied the compulsory subjects, earned the required number of credits specified by each department, and passed the thesis review and final examinations under the requisite guidance of an academic supervisor.
