Student accommodation

694 places at Ikenoue Student Dormitory, the university's only student hall, plus 76 rooms at the International House. Both are at Higashi-Hiroshima; there is nothing university-run at Kasumi or Higashi-Senda.
About ¥18,200-20,200 a month all-in for a Type B or Type D room at Ikenoue, ¥20,900-22,900 for Type A, and ¥27,700-29,700 for the newer Type C block.
About ¥18,400 a month all-in for a 13.3 m² en-suite single at the International House, which also has five couple's flats and five family flats on fixed charges.
Ikenoue places are allocated on need — financial hardship and a commute of two hours or more — not by lottery, and the maximum stay is two years with extension "basically not possible".
¥25,000-55,000 a month including service charge for a private flat in Higashi-Hiroshima, and ¥30,000-80,000 in Hiroshima City. Around 8,000 rooms are on the university's designated-lodgings list.
Every figure below is the REAL monthly total. Hiroshima advertises the lodging fee alone; the actual bill adds a common charge, about ¥10,000 of metered utilities and a ¥2,000 laundry fee.
