University overview

IUJ is a very small, entirely English-medium graduate institute in rural Niigata, founded in 1982 as Japan's first graduate school to teach wholly in English. It runs two graduate schools — International Relations, and International Management — and almost everyone lives on the single campus: 368 of its 391 students are international, drawn from 68 countries, which is among the highest shares anywhere in Japan. Admission is rolling, with three application rounds a cycle rather than a single window.
