University overview

Kobe University is a national university on the hillside above Kobe, with four campus areas across the city — Rokkodai, Kusunoki, Myodani and Fukae. Its English-taught teaching is entirely at graduate level: the Kobe University Interdisciplinary Master Programs in economics, management and global business law, five English-based master's departments in the Graduate School of Science, and the Special Course for Development Policy at the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies. Tuition is the same for international students, and Japanese classes are free to every international student.

Academic scale

11 English-taught programmes listed here, ALL of them graduate — Kobe's Courses in English page lists no English-taught undergraduate degree

Core campuses

Rokkodai Campus The main campus, on the hillside above the city, in four sub-campuses: Rokkodai 1st and 2nd and Tsurukabuto 1st and 2nd. It teaches GSICS, Economics, Business, Law and the Graduate School of Science.
Kusunoki Campus The medical campus, with Kobe University Hospital next door. It teaches the Graduate School of Medicine's English-taught programme.
Myodani Campus The health sciences campus, out west in the Suma hills and well separated from the rest of the university. It teaches the Graduate School of Health Sciences.
Fukae Campus The maritime campus on the reclaimed waterfront, home of the Graduate School of Maritime Sciences and the university's training ship. It teaches none of the English-taught programmes listed here.

More facts
