Student accommodation

825 rooms across five residence halls open to students, 595 of them for international students. Nagoya publishes no total of its own; these are sums of its per-hall figures.
¥16,000 a month at International Ohmeikan — 13 m² singles with en-suite bath, ten minutes' walk south of Higashiyama. The only hall mixing Japanese and international students. Utilities about ¥10,000 on top.
¥25,000 a month for a single at International Residence Daiko — 224 singles and 4 couple rooms, couples ¥35,000.
¥32,000 a month at Ishida Memorial International Residence Myoken — 93 singles of about 15 m². This is the hall used for Global 30 undergraduates.
¥32,000 a month at International Residence Yamate North (102 singles) and ¥26,000 at Yamate South (112 singles of about 7 m²). Both international students only.
¥30,000-50,000 a month for a private flat, with move-in costs of three to four months' rent. Nagoya's housing pages quote a wider ¥35,000-60,000 for single rooms.
Halls take international students twice a year — apply in January to move in for April, in July for October. Nagoya warns capacity is limited and that many students live off campus.
